HiLITE Cyber Tower: Kerala Unveils ₹600 Crore IT Hub to Transform Calicut

HiLITE Group’s Rs. 600 crore Cyber Tower project has begun in Calicut, with 9 lakh sq. ft. of Grade A IT space planned to attract global businesses and generate over 10,000 direct IT jobs.

Kerala has taken a significant step towards strengthening Malabar’s technology landscape with the groundbreaking ceremony of HiLITE Cyber Tower, a major IT infrastructure project by HiLITE Group at Cyberpark in Calicut. Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan performed the ceremony, marking the beginning of a development expected to expand the region’s IT sector, attract businesses and create thousands of employment opportunities.

Spread across 2.5 acres with a built-up area of 9 lakh sq. ft., HiLITE Cyber Tower will be a Grade A commercial building designed to accommodate multinational corporations (MNCs), high-growth start-ups and advanced Research & Development (R&D) centres. The project represents an investment of Rs. 600 crore and forms part of HiLITE Group’s plan to develop 12 million square feet of office space over the next few years.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by P. K. Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, IT & AI, and other dignitaries. The project is expected to generate over 10,000 direct IT employment opportunities and accelerate socio-economic growth across Malabar, particularly in Calicut. It is scheduled for completion within two years and will be pre-leased ahead of completion.

“The Government's vision is re-imagining Keralam by prioritizing advanced technologies and innovation. HiLITE Group and P. Sulaiman are presenting an inspiring step forward in that direction,” Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan said.

He stated that new development projects spanning 50 million square feet are expected to be completed by 2030, including the HiLITE IT complex, creating around 2 lakh job opportunities within Keralam. The government aims to position Calicut as a major IT destination on par with Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.

“Grade-A IT initiatives like the HiLITE Cyber Tower can showcase Keralam’s highly cost-effective and skilled talent pool to the world. The government will extend its full support to such projects that emphasize innovation and development,” the Chief Minister added. He said the government would support and welcome investors and entrepreneurs willing to contribute to the state's development.

P. K. Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, IT & AI, expressed confidence that Calicut would emerge as Kerala’s next major IT destination, following the growth of Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi.

“There is no doubt that Calicut will emerge as Keralam's next major IT destination, following the footsteps of Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi,” Kunhalikutty said.

Referring to HiLITE Group’s development record, the Minister said he had witnessed the group's growth and execution capabilities since its inception and was confident that it would successfully complete the project. He added that the execution of mega-projects would encourage other leading developers and project promoters to invest in Calicut.

“Employment opportunities tailored to the new generation can only be created through the growth of industries and enterprises,” he said. The Minister assured full support for efforts to transform Calicut, a city with a centuries-old trading legacy, into a globally recognised IT and industrial hub.

HiLITE Cyber Tower is envisioned as a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure hub, with facilities designed to support businesses, research and technological innovation. The Grade A building will follow stringent green standards, with an emphasis on smart, sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure. Its flexible, future-ready workspaces are intended to encourage global collaboration, innovation and digital transformation.

P. Sulaiman, Chairman of HiLITE Group, said the company's ambition extended beyond developing commercial infrastructure to creating opportunities for people to build their careers in Kerala while attracting talent and businesses from around the world.

“People choose cities and countries because they offer something that draws them there. Our ambition is to build a Keralam that offers its people the opportunities to build their lives and careers, while also becoming a place that attracts talent and businesses from across the world. We want to contribute to a Keralam that is not only known for what it has, but for what it can offer,” Sulaiman said.

Ajil Muhammed, CEO of HiLITE Group, highlighted the role of technology in changing workplaces, business development and employment opportunities. He said Kerala needed an ecosystem that would enable businesses to grow alongside the state's talent and ambitions.

“Technology is changing the way we work, build businesses and create opportunities. Keralam has the talent and ambition to compete globally, and we need an ecosystem that gives businesses the space to grow alongside it. HiLITE Cyber Tower is part of that effort. Through our IT developments, we want to create environments that enable businesses to innovate, expand and build what comes next in Keralam,” Muhammed said.

The project adds to HiLITE Group’s expanding IT portfolio across Keralam. Construction of HiLITE Cyber Hub is already underway in Calicut, while YOO Hub Trivandrum, described as India’s first branded IT Park at Technopark Phase III, has been launched with a grand groundbreaking ceremony.

The ceremony brought together political and civic leaders, government officials, representatives of Kerala’s IT sector and HiLITE Group employees. Those present included P. K. Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, IT & AI; A. P. Anil Kumar, Minister for Revenue; M. K. Raghavan, Member of Parliament (MP); Fyzal Babu, MLA; M. A. Razak Master, MLA; K. Praveen Kumar, MLA & DCC President, Kozhikode; K. Jayanth, MLA; P.M.A. Sameer, MLA; Seeram Sambasiva Rao IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology; Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark, Keralam and Cyberpark Kozhikode; P. Sulaiman, Chairman of HiLITE Group; Ajil Muhammed, CEO of HiLITE Group; and Tony Joseph, Principal & Partner, Stapati Architects, along with other representatives and employees of the Group.

With an investment of Rs. 600 crore, a planned built-up area of 9 lakh sq. ft. and an expected 10,000-plus direct IT jobs, HiLITE Cyber Tower is set to become a major addition to Calicut’s commercial technology infrastructure. Its development also supports the broader state ambition of expanding IT opportunities beyond established centres and positioning Keralam as a destination for technology businesses and skilled professionals.
